Lacey's Medical Emergency Fund
Lacey's story (see Lacey's Story below) prompted an outpouring of generous donations from all across the globe. People wanted to help her and donating was the best way they could.
In response to the very generous donations from the public after being made aware of Lacey's story, Friends of the Kern County Animal Shelters Foundation voted to establish Lacey's Medical Emergency Fund.
Donations which remained unspent at the end of Lacey's treatment were allocated to Lacey's Medical Fund. Lacey's Fund is used to assist animals who are seized by city or county authorities due to abuse or neglect, or for animals impounded in the shelter who need medical assistance beyond what the shelter could reasonably provide, and have a place to relocate (a foster home, rescue or adoption) after treatment.
