Spay & Neuter Options for Dogs and Cats

There's no doubt that spaying or neutering your pet saves lives. Thousands of animals are euthanized in Kern County each year because we have more pets than we have homes for them. There are a number of organizations working to reduce the cost of spay/neuter through lower-cost options, such as special programs or vouchers. Licensing Your Dog/
Dog and Cat Vaccination Clinics

Licensing your dog can be its return ticket home if your pet ever escapes and is found on the street and taken to a shelter. Both Kern County Animal Services and the City of Bakersfield hold frequent low-cost vaccination and licensing clinics. With the purchase of a license, both agencies will micro chip your dog for FREE!

KCAS has cat and dog vaccinations available and will micro chip your pets FREE on Wednesdays at 3951 Fruitvale Avenue from 5 pm to 6:30 pm!

CBACC has cat and dog vaccinations and micro chipping available at its Friday clinics at 201 S. Mt. Vernon from 10 am to noon. Please note the change in vaccination fees for 2016.
