The following is an email we received (reprinted with permission) regarding the difference the Medical Emergency Fund made in the life of Cash the horse. Your support makes these stories possible!
Dear "Friends",
On July 29th I adopted a horse named Cash from the Kern County animal shelter. This was a dream come true for me. A dream that would not have come true had it not been for your kindness and overwhelming generosity. You may not remember, but Cash had an old injury on his front leg that needed to be x-rayed and diagnosed. Your organization paid for the vet visit. It turned out to be an injury to the growth plate that happened when he was young. The vet approved him for light riding and we brought him to his new forever home. We haven't ridden him yet. We've been bonding and getting to know each other while waiting for his bite marks (from another horse at the shelter) to heal well enough to saddle him up. I am a beginner rider. Had never had any experience working with a horse. Cash is so sweet and gentle. He is perfect for us. He has touched so many lives already. The grandkids are thrilled. As are the rest of us. Thank you so much for all you have done and all that you will continue to do. Yours is truly a wonderful and worthy cause. With deepest gratitude, Jody Radis |
