About Friends

Friends of the Kern County Animal Shelters Foundation was formed in 2005 as a 501(c)(3). We are volunteers who support the efforts of the Kern County Animal Shelters.

Our Mission

Friends works to reduce animal overpopulation and improve the conditions in our local shelters by engaging the community in advocating for companion animals through fund raising and volunteerism. 

Our Vision

Friends endeavors to create a no-kill community through low cost spay and neuter efforts, increasing adoptions, improving pet owner responsibility, and expanding resources.  Friends strives for a stellar community profile, and pet friendly shelter environments.
